EverGlide® MED

The EverGlide® MED family of polymer compounds offer best-in-class friction control and lubricity while balancing physical properties and medical compliance. EverGlide® MED compounds leverage our proprietary additive technology which effectively lowers the coefficient of friction while maintaining critical properties and processability. The resulting compound is easily processed in conventional equipment and offers permanent, non-migratory solution for high lubricity.

The versatility of EverGlide® MED allows it to be used in almost any polymer and in combination with colors and or fillers like barium sulfate, tungsten, bismuth trioxide and others. Polymers ranging from polyolefins, TPUs, PEBAs, nylons, fluorpolymers, PPSU, PEI and PEEK can be modified with the EverGlide® MED technology. Medical devices made with EverGlide® MED are ETO, gamma, ebeam, and steam sterilizable while being ISO 10993 and USP Class VI capable.

The graph below shows the ease of which a PEBA 40D resin modified with EverGlide MED, is able to slide through a simulated blood vessel. As shown, the EverGlide MED is able to move and slide more easily than resins like PTFE which are known for low COF and ease of sliding.

The test was run at a 3rd party lab. This was a wet test using deionized water at 37°C. A tensile tester was used to pull the samples horizontally through grips at a rate of 3 in/min. The data is the average force required to pull the sample a distance of 75 mm.
